Details
A table lamp in fine white stoneware, hand built, left matte and carved with Balinese-style floral motifs. Its coolie-style shade throws a soft, wide light.
There are two finishes. One stays plain white, without gold or glass beads. The other adds gold lustre details, there to catch the light from the shade, and recycled glass beads.
Ukiran means carving. Her carving grew out of Tantri’s contribution to the Craft Victoria group show Everyone’s heard of a dragon in 2023, her first substantive work with her Balinese heritage, and it has kept going since. As she puts it: “I’m now trying to look at those influences more deliberately and understand what has been there all along.”
Made to order, so the lamp you receive will vary a little from the one pictured.
